Only a handful of aerobatic Su‑26 aircraft remain in Russia — the planes in which the national team dominated its rivals for a quarter of a century. The leading pilots are now all over fifty. Russia is barred from world championships. Almost no flying clubs remain. Against this backdrop, the central question becomes inevitable: does Russia need aerobatic sport at all? We put this question to the man who knows everything about it.
